Reviews
This is an English translation of a German book about the most prolific artist of the Reformation, Lucas Cranach the Elder. He was the resident artist of Wittenberg and the portraitist of Martin Luther. It includes a biography of Cranach as well photos of most of his paintings with helpful commentary. I recommend the book for anyone who has an interest in the art of the Reformation, but I think it would also be helpful for students of Martin Luther's life as Cranach was one of his advisers and supporters during some of the most crucial times in Luther's life.
